The NIBCO CE03946 is a Schedule 80 PVDF threaded pipe nipple designed for demanding fluid handling applications where chemical resistance and pressure integrity are critical. Measuring 2 inches in pipe size and 4 inches in length, this nipple is manufactured from polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), a high-performance thermoplastic that resists a broad range of aggressive chemicals, UV exposure, and elevated temperatures. The natural finish indicates uncolored, virgin PVDF material. Licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters install these nipples as connecting sections between threaded fittings, valves, and equipment in chemical process, ultrapure water, and industrial piping systems.
This nipple is suited for corrosive fluid service in both commercial and industrial environments. Common applications include chemical feed lines, semiconductor fabrication water systems, laboratory piping, and wastewater treatment facilities where metal or standard PVC components would degrade. Schedule 80 wall thickness provides increased pressure ratings compared to Schedule 40, making it appropriate for moderate-pressure service lines. Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter familiar with thermoplastic piping systems and applicable IPC or local plumbing codes. Depressurize and drain the line completely before removing or installing any threaded nipple. Use PTFE thread tape rated for PVDF and chemical service — do not use petroleum-based pipe dopes, which can attack PVDF. Avoid over-torquing threaded connections, as PVDF threads can crack under excessive force.
