The NIBCO CE03770 is a Schedule 80 PVDF threaded pipe nipple designed for demanding fluid-handling applications where chemical resistance and pressure integrity are required. Sized at 1/2 inch pipe with a 4-inch length, this nipple is machined from polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), a high-performance thermoplastic that holds up to aggressive chemicals, UV exposure, and elevated temperatures better than standard PVC or CPVC. The natural color finish indicates virgin, unfilled PVDF material. Licensed plumbers and industrial piping mechanics install these in systems where metal corrosion or standard plastic degradation would be a service liability.
This nipple is suited for chemical process piping, high-purity water systems, laboratory plumbing, and industrial fluid transfer lines where Schedule 80 wall thickness is specified. Its threaded ends allow direct connection to Schedule 80 PVDF or compatible fittings without solvent cement, making it a practical choice for systems that require periodic disassembly. The 4-inch length covers close-to-close and short-run connections in tight panel or equipment installations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation component for Schedule 80 PVDF threaded piping systems in chemical, industrial, and high-purity water applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified piping mechanic familiar with thermoplastic threaded systems. Shut off and depressurize the line completely before removing or installing any nipple. Use PTFE thread tape or an approved thread sealant rated for PVDF and the specific process fluid — do not use pipe dopes that contain solvents incompatible with PVDF. Hand-tighten first, then use strap wrenches rather than metal jaw wrenches to avoid cracking the fitting body.
