The NIBCO CE03600 is a Schedule 80 blind pipe flange made from PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride), a high-performance thermoplastic suited for demanding fluid-handling applications. Blind flanges seal the end of a piping run, terminating flow without requiring a threaded or welded cap. This flange is sized for 1-inch pipe with a 4.5-inch outer diameter and is supplied in natural (unpigmented) PVDF. Plumbers and pipefitters working on corrosion-resistant piping systems select PVDF flanges where metal hardware would be unsuitable due to chemical exposure or purity requirements.
This blind flange is intended for use in Schedule 80 PVDF piping systems commonly found in industrial process piping, chemical handling lines, ultrapure water systems, and commercial plumbing installations where aggressive media or contamination concerns rule out metal or standard PVC components. It is installed at pipe termination points to blank off flow or isolate a section of piping for maintenance or future expansion.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-install component for Schedule 80 PVDF piping systems with 1-inch nominal pipe size terminations.
Installation of PVDF flanges is typically performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters familiar with thermoplastic piping systems. Depressurize and drain the piping system fully before removing or installing any flange. Follow applicable codes including the IPC and relevant ASME B16 flange standards for bolt torque sequences and gasket selection. Avoid overtightening flange fasteners, as PVDF is a thermoplastic and is subject to creep under excessive clamp load.
