The NIBCO CE03290 is a Schedule 80 flush threaded reducer bushing made from PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) plastic, designed to reduce a 1-inch pipe line down to a 1/2-inch connection. MIPT male iron pipe thread on the outer end mates with FIPT female iron pipe thread on the inner end, allowing inline size reduction without cutting or welding. PVDF is a high-performance thermoplastic that resists a broad range of aggressive chemicals, making this bushing suitable for demanding fluid handling applications. Licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters are the typical installers for this fitting.
This bushing is used in Schedule 80 plastic piping systems where a reduction from 1 inch to 1/2 inch is required. Common applications include chemical processing lines, water treatment systems, industrial plumbing, and laboratory fluid distribution where chemical resistance and pressure rating matter. PVDF construction makes it appropriate for use with acids, bases, and many solvents that would degrade standard PVC or CPVC fittings. The flush bushing profile sits within the hub of the mating fitting, keeping the assembly compact.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install fitting for Schedule 80 PVDF threaded piping systems with 1-inch to 1/2-inch reduction requirements.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter following applicable IPC guidelines. Depressurize and drain the piping system fully before removing any existing fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant rated for use with PVDF and the conveyed fluid — do not use sealants that may degrade the plastic. Avoid over-torquing threaded plastic fittings, as excess force can crack the bushing body.
