The NIBCO CE03150 is a Schedule 80 flush socket reducer bushing manufactured from PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) thermoplastic. It reduces a 2-inch pipe connection down to a 1-inch socket connection using a spigot by socket (SPIG x S) end configuration. PVDF is a high-purity, chemically resistant fluoropolymer well suited for aggressive fluid handling applications. This bushing is used by licensed plumbers and pipefitters working in industrial, chemical processing, and high-purity fluid systems where metal fittings are not appropriate due to corrosion concerns.
This fitting is intended for Schedule 80 plastic piping systems handling corrosive chemicals, ultrapure water, or other demanding media. Its flush socket design allows it to seat fully within a mating socket, keeping the installed assembly compact. It is appropriate for both above-ground and industrial process installations where PVDF-rated piping is specified. The SPIG x S end connections allow direct integration into standard Schedule 80 socket-weld plastic pipe systems.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard component for Schedule 80 PVDF plastic piping systems using socket-weld end connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter familiar with plastic pipe solvent-cementing procedures. Use only PVDF-compatible solvent cement and follow the cement manufacturer and applicable code requirements, including IPC guidelines for plastic piping systems. Depressurize and drain the system fully before cutting into an existing line. Avoid over-insertion force that could crack the spigot or socket seat during assembly.
