The NIBCO CE03100 is a PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) flush socket reducer bushing designed for Schedule 80 plastic piping systems. It provides a spigot-to-socket (SPIG x S) end connection, allowing a 1-1/2 inch pipe line to transition down to a 1 inch socket fitting. PVDF is a high-purity, chemically resistant thermoplastic well suited for aggressive fluid handling applications. This bushing meets ASTM D3222 standards for PVDF plastic piping materials. It is installed by licensed plumbers and pipefitters working on chemical process, industrial, or high-purity water systems where standard thermoplastic fittings are required.
This reducer bushing is used in Schedule 80 PVDF piping systems that handle corrosive chemicals, ultrapure water, or other aggressive fluids found in industrial, laboratory, and semiconductor manufacturing environments. The SPIG x S configuration allows it to seat directly into a compatible socket fitting without additional adapters. It is appropriate for both new construction and retrofit applications where a reduction in line size is needed at a fitting connection point.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 PVDF socket-weld piping systems requiring a 1-1/2 inch to 1 inch reduction at a flush socket connection point.
Installation should be performed by a qualified pipefitter or licensed plumber familiar with thermoplastic Schedule 80 systems. Depressurize and drain the line completely before cutting into any existing piping. PVDF socket fittings are joined using solvent cement or thermal fusion methods appropriate for PVDF material — confirm the correct joining method and compatible solvent for PVDF before proceeding. Follow applicable plumbing and mechanical codes for chemical or high-purity fluid piping installations.
