The NIBCO CE03050 is a flush socket reducer bushing made from PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) thermoplastic, designed for Schedule 80 piping systems. It transitions a 1-inch pipe to a 3/4-inch socket connection using a spigot by socket (SPIG x S) end configuration. PVDF offers strong resistance to a wide range of aggressive chemicals, making this fitting a reliable choice in corrosive-fluid or high-purity applications. Licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters install this type of fitting where a smooth, flush reduction is needed without the added length of a traditional hex bushing.
This reducer bushing is suited for chemical processing, industrial fluid handling, water treatment, and laboratory piping systems where PVDF is the specified material. Schedule 80 fittings are used in higher-pressure applications compared to Schedule 40 and are compatible with thermoplastic piping systems requiring chemical inertness and broad temperature tolerance. The SPIG x S end connection allows the bushing to be solvent-cemented directly into a standard socket fitting on the larger end while accepting a socket-style connection on the reduced end.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 PVDF thermoplastic piping systems requiring a 1-inch to 3/4-inch flush socket reduction with SPIG x S end connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter following applicable IPC and local plumbing codes for thermoplastic systems. Depressurize and drain the line fully before cutting into any existing piping. Use only PVDF-compatible solvent cement as specified by the pipe and fitting manufacturer — standard PVC or CPVC cements are not appropriate for PVDF. Allow full cure time before returning the system to service.
