The NIBCO CE03000 is a flush socket reducer bushing manufactured from PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) thermoplastic, rated for Schedule 80 service. It transitions pipe from a 3/4-inch nominal size down to a 1/2-inch socket connection, using a spigot (SPIG) male end that inserts into a socket fitting on one side and a socket (S) female end on the other. With a maximum working temperature of 280 degrees F, this bushing is suited for aggressive chemical piping systems where metal fittings are not appropriate. Plumbers and pipefitters working on industrial, laboratory, or chemical process lines install this fitting where a compact, flush-style reduction is required without adding significant face length to the assembly.
This fitting is intended for use in Schedule 80 PVDF thermoplastic piping systems handling corrosive fluids, ultrapure water, or chemical process media. It is commonly installed in industrial plants, laboratories, semiconductor facilities, and water treatment applications where chemical resistance and temperature performance are critical. The flush socket profile keeps the installed length tight in congested pipe runs. The SPIG x S end configuration allows direct integration into standard socket-weld thermoplastic piping assemblies without adapters.
Designed as an OEM-style fitting for Schedule 80 PVDF thermoplastic socket-weld piping systems with a 3/4-inch to 1/2-inch reduction requirement.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter familiar with thermoplastic solvent-cement or socket-fusion joining methods as appropriate for PVDF systems. Shut off the fluid supply and depressurize the line completely before cutting or modifying any piping. Follow the fitting and solvent manufacturer instructions for surface preparation, solvent application, and cure time. Consult applicable local plumbing codes and ASTM standards before installation in pressure-bearing systems.
