The NIBCO CE02750 is a Schedule 80 PVDF end cap with a female iron pipe thread (FIPT) end connection, sized at 1/2 inch. It is designed to permanently or temporarily terminate the end of a threaded plastic piping run. PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) is a high-performance thermoplastic valued for its resistance to aggressive chemicals, UV exposure, and elevated service temperatures. This fitting is suited to industrial, commercial, and specialty plumbing systems where standard PVC or CPVC is not adequate. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the typical installers for Schedule 80 plastic piping systems handling corrosive or high-purity media.
This end cap is used in Schedule 80 thermoplastic piping systems where a threaded cap-off is required at a line terminus. Typical applications include chemical processing lines, ultrapure water systems, semiconductor fabrication facilities, and industrial fluid handling installations. The FIPT connection threads onto a male-threaded pipe end or fitting, making it straightforward to install on existing threaded Schedule 80 runs. It is sold individually.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1/2 inch Schedule 80 PVDF threaded piping systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter familiar with thermoplastic threaded piping systems. Depressurize and drain the line completely before removing any existing fitting or installing this cap. Use PTFE thread tape or a thread sealant rated for use with PVDF and the specific media being conveyed. Do not use metal pipe wrenches directly on PVDF fittings without strap-wrench protection, as overtightening can crack the fitting body.
