The NIBCO CE02700 is a 2-inch Schedule 80 PVDF socket cap designed to terminate the end of a pipe run in demanding fluid-handling systems. PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) offers excellent chemical resistance, making this cap suitable for aggressive media including acids, bases, and solvents. The Slip x SR FIPT end connections allow the fitting to socket-weld onto the pipe end while providing a threaded female port option. Licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters install this fitting in systems where standard PVC or CPVC lacks the chemical or temperature resistance required.
This cap is appropriate for industrial process piping, chemical transfer lines, and high-purity fluid systems where PVDF material is specified. Schedule 80 wall thickness provides added pressure capacity over Schedule 40, making it a common choice for pressurized systems in manufacturing, semiconductor fabrication, water treatment, and laboratory environments. It is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of one.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 PVDF piping systems using 2-inch diameter pipe with socket or SR FIPT end connections.
Installation of PVDF socket fittings should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified industrial pipefitter familiar with solvent-cement or mechanical joining methods approved for PVDF. Depressurize and drain the line fully before cutting into an existing system. Follow the pipe and fitting manufacturer joining instructions for PVDF, as solvent cements and priming requirements differ from those used with PVC or CPVC. Applicable work should conform to local plumbing codes and ASTM standards for thermoplastic piping systems.
