The NIBCO CE02650 is a Schedule 80 PVDF socket cap designed to terminate pipe ends in corrosive or high-purity fluid handling systems. Constructed from polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), this fitting delivers excellent chemical resistance and dimensional stability across a wide temperature range. The Slip x SR FIPT end connections allow the socket end to be solvent-welded to a plain pipe end while the female iron pipe thread end provides a threaded makeup option. At 1-1/2 inches, it fits standard Schedule 80 piping. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in industrial, commercial, and specialty process applications where metal fittings are not suitable.
This socket cap is suited for use in chemical processing, water treatment, semiconductor fabrication, laboratory piping, and other environments where aggressive media or purity requirements rule out metal or standard PVC fittings. The Schedule 80 wall thickness provides greater pressure handling capability than Schedule 40 fittings of the same size, making it appropriate for moderate-pressure systems carrying corrosive liquids or ultrapure water.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit cap for Schedule 80 PVDF piping systems using 1-1/2 inch nominal pipe size with Slip and SR FIPT connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter familiar with thermoplastic piping systems. Depressurize and drain the piping system fully before cutting or joining any section. Solvent cement the slip end following the adhesive manufacturer's cure time requirements before returning the line to service. Consult applicable codes including IPC and ASTM standards for PVDF solvent-welded and threaded joint requirements.
