The NIBCO CE01650 is a 90-degree pipe elbow fitting manufactured from PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride), a high-performance thermoplastic selected for its resistance to aggressive chemicals, UV exposure, and elevated service temperatures. Built to Schedule 80 wall thickness, this fitting handles higher-pressure applications than Schedule 40 counterparts. The 1.5-inch size accepts female iron pipe thread (FIPT) connections on both ends, allowing direct threaded assembly with male-threaded pipe or adapters. Plumbers, pipefitters, and industrial maintenance technicians install this fitting in process piping, chemical handling systems, and high-purity water lines where metal fittings are unsuitable.
This elbow is suited for residential and commercial plumbing as well as industrial process applications where chemical compatibility is a primary concern. PVDF Schedule 80 fittings are commonly found in chemical feed lines, semiconductor fabrication water systems, laboratory plumbing, and pool or water treatment installations. The FIPT x FIPT end connections make it straightforward to thread onto existing male-threaded pipe runs without solvent cement or additional adapters.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 PVDF threaded piping systems using 1.5-inch nominal pipe size with male iron pipe thread terminations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter familiar with thermoplastic threaded piping systems. Shut off and depressurize the line completely before disassembly or fitting installation. Apply thread sealant rated compatible with PVDF and the conveyed media — verify sealant compatibility before use, as some petroleum-based compounds can affect thermoplastics. Do not overtighten FIPT connections; use only hand-tight plus a controlled number of turns per the sealant manufacturer's guidance to avoid cracking the fitting body.
