The NIBCO CE00450 is a 2-inch Schedule 80 PVDF pipe coupling designed for joining same-diameter pipe sections in demanding fluid-handling systems. PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) is a high-performance thermoplastic known for its resistance to aggressive chemicals, UV exposure, and elevated service temperatures, making this coupling a reliable choice where standard PVC or CPVC materials fall short. The female iron pipe thread (FIPT) connections on both ends allow straightforward threaded assembly to mating pipe or fittings. Licensed plumbers and industrial piping contractors are the typical installers.
This coupling is suited for chemical processing lines, ultrapure water systems, semiconductor fabrication, industrial wastewater handling, and other applications where chemical purity and corrosion resistance are critical. Schedule 80 wall thickness provides additional pressure-bearing capacity compared to Schedule 40, making it appropriate for higher-pressure service runs in both above-ground and supported indoor piping layouts. The FIPT x FIPT configuration is well suited to systems where threaded connections are standard practice.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 thermoplastic piping systems using 2-inch FIPT-threaded connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified industrial pipefitter in accordance with applicable plumbing codes such as the IPC. Isolate and depressurize the piping system and drain all fluid before working on any fitting. Use PTFE thread tape or a PVDF-compatible thread sealant on threaded connections and tighten to hand-tight plus the appropriate number of turns per the fitting manufacturer guidance without over-torquing, as thermoplastic threads can crack under excessive force. Do not use pipe wrenches directly on PVDF fittings without protective padding.
