The NIBCO CD04100 is a 1-inch Schedule 80 PVDF socket union designed for high-purity and corrosive-fluid piping systems. PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) offers excellent chemical resistance, making this union well suited for aggressive media in industrial, chemical processing, and specialty plumbing applications. The slip by SR FIPT end connections allow tool-assisted assembly into rigid Schedule 80 thermoplastic piping systems. Licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters install this fitting where process integrity and chemical compatibility are critical priorities.
This union is used in applications where standard PVC or CPVC fittings lack sufficient chemical resistance. Common installations include chemical feed lines, semiconductor fabrication process piping, water treatment systems, and industrial fluid handling. The red color allows quick visual identification of PVDF components within a multi-material piping layout. It is appropriate for both above-ground and indoor installations where Schedule 80 thermoplastic piping is specified.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement fitting for 1-inch Schedule 80 PVDF thermoplastic piping systems with slip and SR FIPT end connections.
PVDF socket unions are installed by licensed plumbers or qualified industrial pipefitters following applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and depressurize the line completely before disassembly or installation. PVDF solvent cement and primers specific to PVDF material must be used — do not substitute PVC or CPVC-rated cements. Allow adequate cure time before returning the line to service or applying pressure.
