The NIBCO CD03945 is a Schedule 80 PVDF threaded pipe nipple designed for use in demanding fluid-handling systems where chemical resistance and pressure integrity are critical. Measuring 2 inches in pipe size and 3 inches in length, this nipple is molded from polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), a high-performance thermoplastic that withstands aggressive chemicals, elevated temperatures, and UV exposure. The red color coding aids in quick identification on the job. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters typically specify this nipple in corrosive-media piping systems where metal fittings would degrade or contaminate the process fluid.
This nipple is suited for industrial, commercial, and specialty plumbing applications involving acids, bases, solvents, and high-purity fluids. Schedule 80 wall thickness provides the pressure rating and structural rigidity needed in systems with elevated operating demands. It is commonly installed in chemical processing facilities, water treatment plants, semiconductor fabrication, and laboratory plumbing where PVDF is the material of choice.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 PVDF threaded piping systems using 2-inch nominal pipe connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter familiar with thermoplastic threaded piping systems. Apply a PVDF-compatible thread sealant or PTFE tape — do not use pipe dopes or compounds that contain petroleum solvents, as these can degrade PVDF. Isolate and depressurize the line and verify zero pressure before making any connections. Follow applicable IPC or ASME B31.3 process piping standards for thread engagement, support spacing, and pressure testing.
