The NIBCO CD03875 is a Schedule 80 PVDF threaded pipe nipple designed for use in demanding fluid-handling and chemical-process piping systems. PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) is a high-purity thermoplastic that resists a wide range of aggressive chemicals, making this nipple a reliable choice where metal or standard PVC fittings would degrade. The nipple measures 1 inch in pipe size and 3 inches in length, with male threaded ends on both sides for direct connection into threaded fittings, valves, or equipment ports. The red color coding assists with quick system identification during installation and maintenance. Licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters are the typical installers.
This nipple is suited for industrial process piping, chemical transfer lines, water treatment systems, and high-purity fluid applications where corrosion resistance and chemical compatibility are critical. The Schedule 80 wall thickness provides added pressure-bearing capacity compared to Schedule 40, making it appropriate for moderate-pressure service lines. Its compact 3-inch length makes it useful for close-quarter connections between valves, flanges, or equipment inlets. Both residential and commercial/industrial installations are common depending on the application.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation component for Schedule 80 thermoplastic threaded piping systems using 1-inch NPT connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter familiar with plastic threaded piping systems. PTFE thread tape or an approved thread sealant rated for PVDF should be applied to the male threads before assembly. Do not use pipe wrenches with excessive force, as over-torquing PVDF threads can crack the fitting. Verify system pressure and chemical compatibility with PVDF before placing the line into service.
