The NIBCO CD03865 is a Schedule 80 PVDF threaded pipe nipple designed for use in demanding fluid-handling systems where chemical resistance and pressure integrity are critical. Measuring 1 inch in pipe size and 5 inches in length, this nipple is manufactured from polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), a high-performance thermoplastic that resists a wide range of aggressive chemicals, UV exposure, and elevated temperatures. The red color provides quick visual identification in multi-pipe installations. Licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters install this type of fitting as part of chemical process, high-purity water, and industrial piping assemblies.
This pipe nipple is suited for residential and commercial plumbing systems where corrosive media, ultrapure water, or chemical transfer applications require a non-metallic fitting with Schedule 80 wall thickness. PVDF nipples are commonly installed in laboratory plumbing, semiconductor facilities, chemical distribution systems, and wastewater treatment piping. The threaded ends connect to standard female-threaded Schedule 80 fittings and valves. The 1-inch nominal pipe size fits standard 1-inch threaded connections throughout industrial and commercial piping networks.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit component for Schedule 80 PVDF threaded piping systems using 1-inch nominal pipe connections.
This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters in accordance with applicable plumbing codes such as the IPC. Shut off and depressurize the line completely before removing or installing any threaded pipe nipple. Use PTFE thread tape or a PVDF-compatible thread sealant rated for the media being conveyed. Avoid over-tightening threaded PVDF fittings, as the material can crack under excessive torque; hand-tighten plus modest wrench turns is the standard practice for plastic-threaded connections.
