The NIBCO CD03820 is a Schedule 80 PVDF threaded pipe nipple designed for demanding fluid-handling applications where chemical resistance and pressure integrity are required. Sized at 3/4 inch pipe diameter and 4 inches in length, this nipple features male NPT threads on both ends for standard inline connections. PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) construction provides exceptional resistance to aggressive chemicals, UV exposure, and elevated temperatures, making it a go-to fitting for corrosive service lines. Licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters install this fitting where a metallic nipple would degrade or contaminate the process fluid.
This nipple is suited for chemical processing, water treatment, semiconductor fabrication, and industrial fluid transfer systems where Schedule 80 wall thickness is specified for higher-pressure service. The red color identifies PVDF material in multi-material piping systems, helping technicians distinguish it from PVC, CPVC, or polypropylene fittings on the same job. It meets ASTM D3222 standards and carries a maximum working pressure of 1360 psi and a maximum working temperature of 280 degrees F, making it appropriate for both high-pressure and elevated-temperature process lines.
Designed as an OEM-style Schedule 80 PVDF threaded nipple for use in 3/4 inch MNPT piping systems requiring chemical-resistant plastic fittings.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter familiar with plastic threaded fittings. Use PTFE thread tape rated for use with PVDF; avoid pipe dopes or sealants that may attack fluoropolymer materials. Do not over-torque threaded connections, as PVDF, while rigid, can crack under excessive mechanical stress. Shut down and depressurize the system fully before removing or installing any threaded fitting.
