The NIBCO CD03805 is a Schedule 80 PVDF threaded pipe nipple designed for demanding fluid-handling systems where chemical resistance and elevated temperature performance are required. Molded from polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), it handles a maximum working pressure of 1360 psi and a maximum working temperature of 280 degrees F. The male NPT (MNPT) threads provide a standard connection for joining to valves, fittings, and other threaded components. The red color coding aids quick material identification during installation and inspection. This nipple is suited for plumbing, industrial piping, and chemical process applications where metal or standard thermoplastic components are not appropriate.
This nipple is typically used in systems conveying aggressive chemicals, high-purity water, or other fluids that require enhanced corrosion resistance. Its Schedule 80 wall thickness makes it appropriate for higher-pressure service runs in both commercial and industrial settings. Plumbers and pipefitters working in chemical processing, semiconductor fabrication, water treatment, and specialty HVAC applications commonly specify PVDF Schedule 80 fittings for these environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit component for Schedule 80 PVDF threaded piping systems using 3/4 inch MNPT connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter familiar with thermoplastic piping systems. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before making or breaking any threaded connections. Use thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for PVDF and the specific fluid being conveyed — avoid petroleum-based compounds that may degrade PVDF. Do not over-torque threaded connections, as PVDF is a rigid thermoplastic and excessive force can crack the fitting.
