The NIBCO CD03775 is a Schedule 80 PVDF threaded pipe nipple designed for demanding fluid handling applications where chemical resistance and pressure integrity are required. Measuring 1/2 inch in pipe size and 3 inches in length, this nipple is molded from polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), a high-performance thermoplastic that resists a broad range of aggressive chemicals, UV exposure, and elevated temperatures. The red color coding aids in quick visual identification on the job. It is installed by licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters working on chemical process, high-purity, or corrosive-fluid piping systems.
This nipple is suited for use in industrial, commercial, and specialty plumbing systems where standard PVC or metal fittings are not adequate for the service conditions. Typical applications include chemical transfer lines, ultrapure water systems, semiconductor fabrication, and laboratory plumbing. The Schedule 80 wall thickness provides additional strength compared to Schedule 40, making it appropriate for moderate-pressure service lines where a short close or extension nipple is needed between fittings or valves.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation component for 1/2 inch Schedule 80 PVDF threaded piping systems using standard NPT thread connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter familiar with thermoplastic piping systems. Isolate and depressurize the line before removing or installing any threaded components. Use PTFE thread tape rated for PVDF and chemical service — do not use pipe dope compounds that are incompatible with PVDF. Avoid over-tightening, as PVDF threaded fittings can crack under excessive torque; hand-tight plus a moderate wrench turn is the general practice for plastic NPT connections.
