The NIBCO CD03765 is a Schedule 80 PVDF threaded pipe nipple designed for demanding fluid handling applications. Constructed from polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), this nipple offers strong resistance to a wide range of chemicals, making it a reliable choice in corrosive service environments. Measuring 1/2 inch in pipe size and 5 inches in length, it features threaded ends for straightforward installation into compatible fittings and valves. At 0.1 pounds, it is lightweight without sacrificing the structural integrity expected of Schedule 80 wall thickness. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters typically handle installation in industrial and commercial piping systems.
This nipple is suited for use in chemical processing, water treatment, semiconductor fabrication, and other applications where metal pipe corrosion is a concern. The red color provides quick visual identification on the job, which is useful in multi-line installations. Its PVDF construction makes it appropriate for both hot and cold fluid service within the material's rated temperature and pressure range. It is commonly installed in Schedule 80 plastic piping systems where threaded connections are specified.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation component for Schedule 80 PVDF threaded plastic piping systems using 1/2 inch pipe size connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter familiar with plastic threaded pipe systems. Shut off and depressurize the line before beginning work. Use PTFE thread tape rated for PVDF and plastic fittings — do not use petroleum-based pipe dopes that can degrade PVDF. Avoid over-torquing threaded connections, as excessive force can crack plastic fittings; hand-tight plus one to two turns with a strap wrench is the standard practice for plastic threaded nipples.
