Product Description

The NIBCO CD03350 is a flush threaded reducer bushing manufactured from PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) plastic, designed to reduce a 1-1/2-inch female threaded port down to a 1-inch male threaded connection. It carries a Schedule 80 pressure rating, making it suitable for demanding industrial and chemical process piping applications. End connections are MIPT on the male end and FIPT on the female end. The red color coding identifies this as a PVDF fitting at a glance on the job site. Plumbers and pipefitters working with corrosion-resistant thermoplastic systems are the typical installers for this type of component.

Installation Notes

Installation of thermoplastic threaded fittings should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter in accordance with applicable plumbing codes. Depressurize and drain the piping system completely before removing or installing any fitting. Use PTFE thread tape rated for PVDF and plastic fittings — do not use pipe dope compounds unless confirmed compatible with PVDF. Hand-tighten first, then advance no more than one to two turns with a strap wrench to avoid cracking the fitting body; do not use metal pipe wrenches directly on PVDF.
