The NIBCO CD02750 is a Schedule 80 PVDF pipe end cap designed to terminate a 1/2-inch threaded pipe line. PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) is a high-performance thermoplastic known for its resistance to aggressive chemicals, UV exposure, and elevated temperatures, making it well suited for industrial and process piping applications. The cap uses female iron pipe thread (FIPT) connections on both ends and is color-coded red for quick system identification. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in systems where standard PVC or CPVC would be inadequate due to chemical or thermal demands.
This end cap is appropriate for use in chemical processing lines, high-purity fluid systems, and industrial plumbing applications where corrosion resistance is a priority. The Schedule 80 wall thickness provides greater pressure handling capability compared to Schedule 40 fittings of the same nominal size. Typical installations include capping unused branch outlets or terminating runs in acid waste, chemical feed, or industrial water treatment piping systems.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 PVDF threaded piping systems using 1/2-inch female iron pipe thread connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter familiar with thermoplastic threaded fittings. Depressurize and drain the piping system fully before removing or installing any end cap. Use thread sealant rated for PVDF and the specific fluid service — confirm chemical compatibility before applying any tape or paste compound. Follow applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements for threaded plastic fittings and chemical piping systems.
