The NIBCO CD02600 is a 1-inch Schedule 80 PVDF socket cap designed to terminate the end of a plastic piping run in demanding industrial and chemical process applications. Manufactured from polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), this fitting delivers strong resistance to a wide range of aggressive chemicals, high-purity fluids, and elevated operating temperatures where standard PVC or CPVC fittings are not suitable. The slip by SR FIPT end connection provides a solvent-weld socket on one end. Its red color coding helps technicians quickly identify PVDF Schedule 80 components in multi-material piping systems.
This cap is intended for use in industrial process piping, chemical distribution, high-purity water systems, and semiconductor facility plumbing where PVDF is the specified material. It is well suited for installations requiring Schedule 80 wall thickness and chemical inertness. Plumbers, pipefitters, and industrial maintenance technicians working with thermoplastic pressure piping systems are the primary installers of this fitting.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard component for Schedule 80 PVDF thermoplastic piping systems with 1-inch nominal pipe size.
Installation of PVDF solvent-weld fittings requires a PVDF-compatible cement and primer — do not substitute PVC or CPVC solvent cement. Depressurize and drain the affected piping section completely before cutting into any live line. Follow ASTM and applicable mechanical code requirements for thermoplastic pressure piping, and allow full cure time before returning the system to service. This work is typically performed by licensed plumbers or qualified industrial pipefitters.
