The NIBCO CD02150 is a Schedule 80 PVDF plastic pipe tee designed for demanding fluid handling applications where chemical resistance and durability are required. Sized at 1-1/2 inches with female iron pipe thread (FIPT) connections on all three ports, this fitting allows branch takeoffs in threaded piping systems. PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) offers excellent resistance to a wide range of aggressive chemicals, solvents, and ultraviolet exposure, making it a reliable choice in chemical processing, industrial, and high-purity water systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in systems where standard PVC or metal fittings are unsuitable.
This tee is suited for residential and commercial piping installations where chemical compatibility or purity requirements rule out metal or standard thermoplastic fittings. Typical applications include chemical feed lines, ultrapure water systems, semiconductor fabrication support piping, and industrial process lines. The Schedule 80 wall thickness provides added pressure-bearing capacity compared to Schedule 40, making it appropriate for higher-pressure service runs. All three FIPT ports accept standard NPT-threaded male pipe ends or adapters.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 PVDF threaded piping systems using 1-1/2 inch NPT connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter familiar with thermoplastic threaded piping systems. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before removing or installing any fitting. Use PTFE thread tape or a compatible thread sealant rated for PVDF and the specific media being conveyed. Do not use pipe wrenches or tools that can crack or deform PVDF — use strap wrenches and follow hand-tight-plus-turns guidelines appropriate to the pipe schedule and sealant used.
