The NIBCO CD01850 is a 1-inch PVDF socket tee fitting rated for Schedule 80 service. PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) is a high-purity, chemically resistant thermoplastic widely used in aggressive fluid handling systems. This tee connects three runs of pipe using socket (slip) end connections on all three ports, creating a branch in the line. It is installed by licensed plumbers and pipefitters working on chemical process, industrial, or high-purity water systems where metal fittings are unsuitable. The red color identifies it as PVDF material per common industry convention.
The CD01850 suits residential and commercial applications involving corrosive chemicals, ultrapure water, or high-temperature fluid lines where thermoplastic fittings are required. Schedule 80 wall thickness provides additional pressure capacity compared to Schedule 40. This fitting is appropriate for solvent-cement socket assembly using PVDF-compatible cement and primer in accordance with manufacturer joining procedures.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1-inch Schedule 80 PVDF piping systems using socket end connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter familiar with thermoplastic piping systems. Depressurize and drain the piping system completely before cutting into an existing line. Use only PVDF-compatible solvent cement and primer as specified by the fitting manufacturer. Consult applicable plumbing codes, including IPC guidelines, for required support spacing and joining procedures.
