The NIBCO CD01550 is a 3/4 inch Schedule 80 PVDF 90-degree elbow designed for demanding fluid handling and chemical process piping systems. PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) offers exceptional resistance to a wide range of aggressive chemicals, UV exposure, and elevated temperatures, making it the material of choice for industrial, laboratory, and chemical distribution applications. This fitting uses female iron pipe thread (FIPT) connections on both ends for a secure, threaded interface with Schedule 80 plastic pipe. At 0.2 pounds, it is lightweight without sacrificing structural integrity under pressure. Licensed plumbers and industrial pipe fitters are the typical installers for this type of thermoplastic fitting.
The CD01550 is suited for chemical process lines, high-purity water systems, industrial fluid transfer, and plumbing applications where corrosion resistance and Schedule 80 pressure ratings are required. The FIPT x FIPT end configuration allows direct threaded connection to male-threaded pipe or adapters, making it adaptable to existing piping layouts in both new construction and retrofit scenarios. Its red color aids in quick visual identification on jobsites where multiple pipe materials or schedules are in use.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for Schedule 80 PVDF thermoplastic piping systems using 3/4 inch FIPT threaded connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipe fitter familiar with thermoplastic Schedule 80 systems. Depressurize and drain the piping system completely before removing or installing any fittings. Use thread sealant rated for PVDF and the specific media being conveyed — consult the sealant manufacturer for chemical compatibility before application. Do not over-torque FIPT connections, as PVDF is a rigid thermoplastic and excessive force can crack the fitting body.
