The NIBCO CD01500 is a Schedule 80 PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) 90-degree elbow fitting designed for corrosive-fluid piping systems where chemical resistance and thermal performance are critical. Sized at 1/2 inch with female iron pipe thread (FIPT) connections on both ends, this fitting changes flow direction by 90 degrees in threaded plastic pipe assemblies. The PVDF material handles temperatures up to 280 degrees F, making it suitable for hot-process, chemical, and high-purity fluid applications. It is installed by licensed plumbers and pipe fitters working on industrial, commercial, or laboratory systems.
This fitting is used in Schedule 80 threaded plastic piping systems that carry aggressive chemicals, ultrapure water, or high-temperature fluids in industrial plants, laboratories, semiconductor facilities, and commercial process piping installations. The FIPT x FIPT end connections thread onto standard male iron pipe thread (MIPT) fittings and pipe nipples. The red color aids identification in multi-material piping systems. It conforms to ASTM D3222, the standard specification for PVDF pipe and fittings materials.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1/2 inch Schedule 80 PVDF threaded plastic piping systems using standard NPT connections.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters familiar with thermoplastic threaded fittings. Before servicing or replacing any fitting, isolate and depressurize the line and drain residual fluid. Use PTFE thread sealant tape rated for PVDF and plastic fittings — do not use paste-type pipe dope unless confirmed compatible with PVDF. Avoid over-torquing PVDF threaded fittings, as plastic threads can crack under excessive force; follow the fitting manufacturer's recommended thread engagement and hand-tight-plus-turns guidance.
