PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) offers excellent resistance to a broad range of corrosive chemicals, UV exposure, and high-purity fluid applications. The fitting is rated Schedule 80 for use in higher-pressure systems and features a Slip x SR FIPT (Socket x Straight-Reinforced Female Iron Pipe Thread) end connection configuration. At 0.561 pounds, it is lightweight relative to metal alternatives while maintaining the structural integrity required for aggressive service environments. The CD01400 is suited for commercial and industrial piping applications where chemical resistance and purity are critical. Shut down and depressurize the piping system completely before cutting into an existing line. Use only PVDF-compatible solvent cement on the slip socket end and ensure threads are properly sealed with a compatible thread sealant rated for PVDF on the SR FIPT end. Do not over-torque threaded connections, as PVDF is a thermoplastic and can crack under excessive mechanical stress.
