The NIBCO CD01300 is a 3/4-inch PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) 90-degree elbow fitting designed for Schedule 80 plastic piping systems. It features slip by street reinforced female iron pipe thread (SR FIPT) end connections, allowing direct integration into threaded or solvent-welded systems. PVDF is a high-performance thermoplastic rated for aggressive chemical environments, making this fitting appropriate for industrial, chemical processing, and high-purity water applications. The fitting weighs 0.181 pounds and is color-coded red for easy system identification. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers for this type of component.
This elbow is suited for use in Schedule 80 plastic piping systems where directional changes of 90 degrees are required. Typical applications include chemical transfer lines, deionized water systems, laboratory plumbing, and industrial fluid handling where chemical resistance and pressure integrity are critical. The PVDF material handles a broad range of corrosive media that would degrade standard PVC or CPVC fittings. The SR FIPT end connection on one side provides added thread engagement strength compared to standard FPT connections.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 PVDF plastic piping systems with 3/4-inch connections using slip and SR FIPT end configurations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter familiar with thermoplastic piping systems and applicable codes such as the IPC. Depressurize and drain the system completely before cutting into any existing line. Use only PVDF-compatible solvent cement on the slip end and appropriate thread sealant rated for PVDF on the SR FIPT connection. Do not over-torque threaded connections, as PVDF fittings are susceptible to stress cracking from excessive mechanical force.
