The NIBCO CD01250 is a 1/2 inch Schedule 80 PVDF plastic 90-degree elbow designed for demanding chemical and industrial piping applications. Constructed from polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), this fitting offers strong resistance to a wide range of aggressive chemicals, UV exposure, and high-purity fluid transfer requirements. The Slip x SR FIPT end connections allow one socket-weld end and one standard reverse female iron pipe thread end, giving installers flexibility in transitioning between pipe joining methods. At 0.12 pounds, the fitting is lightweight and easy to handle during installation. It is identified by its red color for quick visual identification on chemical process lines.
This elbow is suited for chemical processing, water treatment, semiconductor fabrication, and industrial fluid handling systems where standard PVC or CPVC fittings are not sufficient for the service environment. Schedule 80 wall thickness provides added pressure-bearing capacity compared to Schedule 40. Plumbers and pipefitters working with high-purity or corrosive media commonly specify PVDF fittings in these installations. Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter familiar with plastic piping systems and applicable codes such as the IPC or ASTM standards for PVDF piping. Solvent cementing or threading procedures specific to PVDF materials must be followed, as PVDF requires a dedicated cement and primer — do not use PVC or CPVC solvent cement on PVDF fittings. Depressurize and drain the line completely before making any fitting connections. Avoid over-torquing threaded connections, as PVDF can crack under excessive mechanical stress.
