The NIBCO CD01150 is a 45-degree pipe elbow fitting manufactured from PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride), a high-purity thermoplastic well suited for demanding fluid-handling systems. Sized at 1-1/2 inches and rated to Schedule 80 wall thickness, this fitting handles higher-pressure applications where standard Schedule 40 fittings are not appropriate. Female iron pipe thread (FIPT) connections on both ends allow direct make-up to threaded pipe or equipment without additional adapters. The red color identifies PVDF material at a glance, which matters when multiple plastic materials are present in a system. Plumbers and pipefitters working on chemical process, industrial, or high-purity water systems are the primary installers.
This fitting is used in systems conveying corrosive chemicals, ultrapure water, or other fluids that require the chemical resistance PVDF provides. Schedule 80 construction makes it appropriate for higher-pressure piping runs in both commercial and light industrial settings. FIPT x FIPT end connections allow the fitting to thread directly onto Schedule 80 threaded pipe, pumps, valves, or instrumentation with compatible male NPT connections.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 PVDF threaded piping systems with 1-1/2 inch FIPT connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter familiar with thermoplastic threaded fittings. Shut down and depressurize the system completely before disassembling any portion of the line. Use PTFE thread tape or an approved thread sealant rated for PVDF and the specific fluid being conveyed — not all thread compounds are compatible with high-purity or chemical systems. Do not over-tighten threaded PVDF fittings; thermoplastics are susceptible to cracking from excess torque.
