The NIBCO CD01050 is a 45-degree elbow pipe fitting manufactured from PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride), a high-performance thermoplastic suited for demanding fluid-handling applications. Built to Schedule 80 wall thickness, this fitting accepts Female Iron Pipe Thread (FIPT) connections on both ends at 3/4 inch. PVDF offers excellent resistance to a broad range of chemicals, UV exposure, and elevated service temperatures, making it a preferred material in industrial piping, chemical processing, and high-purity water systems. The red color aids identification in multi-system installations. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the typical installers for this type of fitting.
This fitting is used in Schedule 80 thermoplastic piping systems where a 45-degree change of direction is required at a 3/4 inch line size. Common applications include chemical feed lines, deionized or ultrapure water distribution, semiconductor facility plumbing, and industrial process piping where metallic fittings are unsuitable due to corrosion or contamination concerns. The FIPT x FIPT end connections allow direct threading onto Schedule 80 male-threaded pipe or nipples. Both residential and commercial installations may call for this fitting where chemical compatibility or purity requirements rule out PVC or CPVC alternatives.

Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter familiar with thermoplastic threaded systems. Shut off and depressurize the line completely before removing any existing fitting. Use PTFE thread tape rated for PVDF and chemical service when making up threaded joints — do not use pipe dope compounds unless confirmed compatible with PVDF. Consult applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC) for pressure and temperature derating requirements before commissioning.
