The NIBCO CC08100 is a Schedule 80 polypropylene threaded pipe nipple designed for use in piping systems that require chemical resistance and durability in corrosive or high-temperature fluid environments. Measuring 3 inches in pipe diameter and 6 inches in length, this black polypropylene nipple offers the heavy-wall strength of Schedule 80 construction. It is used to connect threaded fittings and valves in plumbing, industrial, and chemical process lines. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters typically install this component when metal pipe is unsuitable due to chemical compatibility concerns or corrosion risk.
This nipple is suited for residential and commercial plumbing systems, as well as light industrial applications where polypropylene's resistance to acids, bases, and many solvents is required. The Schedule 80 wall thickness provides greater pressure capability compared to Schedule 40 pipe. It installs wherever a short threaded connection between two fittings or between a fitting and a valve is needed, including chemical feed lines, drain systems, and process piping.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation nipple for Schedule 80 polypropylene threaded piping systems using 3-inch NPT connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure completely before removing or installing any threaded pipe component. Use thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for polypropylene and plastic fittings — avoid over-torquing, as polypropylene threads can crack under excessive force. Do not use pipe wrenches with sharp jaw teeth directly on the pipe body without a protective wrap.
