The NIBCO CC07850 is a Schedule 80 polypropylene threaded pipe nipple designed for use in industrial and commercial piping systems where chemical resistance and durability are required. Measuring 2 inches in pipe diameter and 5 inches in length, this black polypropylene nipple provides a reliable threaded connection for joining pipe segments in corrosive or high-stress environments. Its Schedule 80 wall thickness delivers greater pressure capacity than Schedule 40, making it suitable for demanding plumbing, chemical feed, and process piping applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters typically specify this type of fitting where metal pipe would corrode or react with system fluids.
This nipple is suited for residential and commercial plumbing systems, chemical processing lines, irrigation headers, and water treatment installations where polypropylene's resistance to acids, bases, and many solvents is an advantage. The threaded ends allow direct connection to standard NPT fittings, valves, and equipment without solvent welding or special tooling. It is a practical choice in retrofit and new-construction scenarios wherever a short threaded extension or close nipple equivalent is needed in a plastic piping system.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 polypropylene threaded piping systems using 2-inch NPT connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off system pressure and drain the line before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Use PTFE thread tape or an approved thread sealant rated for polypropylene and the system fluid — do not use petroleum-based compounds that can degrade polypropylene. Hand-tighten first, then use strap wrenches rather than pipe wrenches to avoid cracking the fitting body.
