The NIBCO CC07800 is a Schedule 80 polypropylene pipe nipple designed for threaded piping systems handling corrosive or chemically aggressive fluids. At 2 inches nominal pipe size and 6 inches in length, this nipple connects threaded sections of pipe in drainage, chemical, and industrial plumbing installations. Male NPT threads on both ends allow direct engagement with standard female-threaded fittings. Schedule 80 wall thickness provides higher pressure capacity than Schedule 40, rated to 20 psi maximum working pressure. The polypropylene construction resists a broad range of chemicals and withstands temperatures up to 180 degrees F, making it well-suited for hot-water and chemical service lines. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers.
This nipple is appropriate for residential and light commercial plumbing systems where corrosion resistance or chemical compatibility rules out metal pipe. Typical applications include chemical feed lines, swimming pool and spa plumbing, laboratory drainage, and industrial process piping where polypropylene's resistance to acids, bases, and oxidizing agents is required. The black color and Schedule 80 rating make it easy to identify in mixed-material systems. It conforms to ASTM D4101 material standards for polypropylene piping components.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation component for 2-inch female NPT threaded fittings and valves in Schedule 80 polypropylene piping systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber following applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before making any threaded connections. Use PTFE tape or a thread sealant rated for plastic pipe on all MNPT connections — do not use petroleum-based compounds that can degrade polypropylene. Hand-tighten first, then snug with strap-type or strap wrench tooling; avoid pipe wrenches with metal jaws that can crush Schedule 80 plastic fittings.
