The NIBCO CC07700 is a Schedule 80 polypropylene threaded pipe nipple rated for demanding plumbing and industrial piping applications. At 2 inches in nominal pipe size and 2 inches in length, this short nipple connects male NPT threaded fittings in close-coupled or space-constrained installations. Polypropylene construction resists corrosion, chemical attack, and scaling that would degrade metal alternatives. The Schedule 80 wall thickness supports a maximum working pressure of 20 psi and a maximum working temperature of 180 degrees F, making it a reliable choice where lightweight plastic threaded connections are specified.
This nipple is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, chemical handling lines, irrigation systems, and water treatment piping where corrosion-resistant thermoplastic pipe components are preferred over steel or brass. The black color aids identification in multi-material piping systems. MNPT threads conform to standard tapered thread engagement, allowing direct connection to standard NPT female fittings and valves without adapters. It is commonly installed by licensed plumbers and pipefitters working on Schedule 80 plastic piping assemblies.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation component for Schedule 80 polypropylene threaded piping systems using 2-inch nominal pipe size MNPT connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber following applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and depressurize the supply line completely before removing or installing any threaded nipple. Use PTFE tape or an approved thread sealant rated for plastic pipe on the male threads before engagement. Do not over-torque polypropylene threaded fittings, as excessive force can crack the fitting body.
