The NIBCO CC05600 is a Schedule 80 flush reducer bushing designed to transition pipe flow from a 2-inch line down to a 1-1/2-inch threaded connection. Molded from black polypropylene, this bushing handles corrosive chemical and industrial fluid applications where metal fittings are not suitable. The MIPT x FIPT end connections allow it to thread directly into a female-threaded fitting or coupling without additional adapters. At 0.43 pounds, it is lightweight and easy to handle during installation. This fitting is a standard choice for chemical process piping, irrigation manifolds, and industrial drainage systems where Schedule 80 pressure ratings are required.
The CC05600 is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, chemical processing lines, and irrigation systems where a compact in-line size reduction is needed. The polypropylene construction resists a broad range of acids, bases, and chlorinated compounds, making it appropriate for pool and spa plumbing, water treatment equipment, and similar corrosive-fluid environments. The flush bushing profile allows it to seat fully within a fitting socket for a clean, low-profile assembly.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install fitting for Schedule 80 polypropylene threaded piping systems requiring a 2-inch to 1-1/2-inch reduction.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters working on threaded plastic piping systems. Shut off system pressure and drain the line before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Use PTFE thread tape or a compatible thread sealant rated for polypropylene; do not use solvent-based pipe dopes that can degrade plastic. Hand-tighten first, then apply a controlled additional turn with a strap wrench — avoid pipe wrenches that can crack Schedule 80 plastic fittings.
