The NIBCO CC05000 is a flush socket reducer bushing designed to transition between two pipe sizes within a Schedule 80 polypropylene piping system. It connects a 2-inch spigot end to a 1-1/2-inch socket end, allowing inline size reduction without additional fittings or couplings. The SPG x S end connection configuration makes it compatible with standard Schedule 80 socket-weld assemblies. Built from black polypropylene, this bushing is suited for chemical-resistant and corrosive-environment applications common in industrial plumbing, water treatment, and process piping. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers.
This reducer bushing is used in Schedule 80 polypropylene piping systems found in industrial facilities, chemical processing plants, water treatment installations, and commercial plumbing applications where resistance to corrosion and chemical exposure is required. The 2-inch SPG male spigot end seats into a 2-inch socket fitting, while the 1-1/2-inch S female socket accepts a 1-1/2-inch pipe or spigot end, making it a compact inline reducer for tight installation spaces.
Designed for use with Schedule 80 polypropylene pipe and socket-weld fittings in 2-inch and 1-1/2-inch sizes using SPG x S end connections.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters trained in thermoplastic piping systems. Depressurize and drain the line fully before removing any existing fittings. Solvent cementing must follow the appropriate ASTM standards for polypropylene socket joints, using only cements and primers rated for polypropylene. Consult applicable local plumbing codes and the IPC for system pressure and support requirements.
