The NIBCO CC04800 is a Schedule 80 flush socket reducer bushing designed for plastic piping systems that require a reduction from a 1-inch socket to a 0.5-inch socket within a tight face-to-face footprint. Constructed from black polypropylene, this bushing features a spigot (SPG) inlet end and a socket (S) outlet end, allowing it to seat flush inside a matching fitting hub without extending beyond the fitting face. The polypropylene construction resists a broad range of chemicals and is well suited to corrosive or industrial fluid handling applications. Plumbers and pipefitters working with thermoplastic pressure systems install this fitting wherever a compact, in-line size reduction is required.
This bushing is intended for use in Schedule 80 polypropylene pressure piping systems handling industrial process fluids, chemical transfer lines, and similar applications where a metallic fitting would be subject to corrosion. The flush socket configuration is particularly useful when space inside a fitting hub is limited or when a standard hex bushing would create clearance issues. Allow full cure time per the cement manufacturer instructions before returning the system to service.
