The NIBCO CC03750 is a Schedule 80 polypropylene hex plug designed to close off and seal threaded pipe ends in industrial and commercial piping systems. Sized at 1-1/2 inches with male pipe thread (MPT) end connections, this plug threads directly into a female-threaded fitting or pipe end to create a pressure-rated seal. Manufactured from black polypropylene, it offers good resistance to a wide range of chemicals, making it suitable for corrosive fluid handling applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting during system construction, maintenance, and pressure testing procedures.
This hex plug is used in Schedule 80 thermoplastic piping systems in industrial process lines, chemical distribution, water treatment, and commercial plumbing applications where a durable, corrosion-resistant threaded closure is required. The hex head profile allows standard wrenching for proper thread engagement. At 1-1/2 inches, it fits piping layouts common in both mechanical rooms and process environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation component for Schedule 80 thermoplastic piping systems using 1-1/2 inch female NPT connections.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Depressurize and drain the piping system fully before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply thread sealant compatible with polypropylene and the conveyed fluid before threading the plug in by hand, then tighten with a wrench — do not overtighten, as polypropylene threads can crack under excessive torque. Verify system integrity by conducting a pressure test after installation.
