The NIBCO CC01950 is a Schedule 80 polypropylene 90-degree elbow fitting designed for use in plastic piping systems that handle corrosive or high-purity fluids. Molded from polypropylene, this fitting resists a wide range of chemicals and provides durable performance in demanding service conditions. The 1/2-inch fitting features a Slip x SR FIPT end connection, allowing one socket end for solvent or thermal fusion and one female iron pipe thread end for threaded connections. At 0.06 pounds, it is lightweight without sacrificing the structural integrity required for Schedule 80 pressure ratings. This fitting is typically installed by licensed plumbers and mechanical contractors.
The CC01950 is suited for residential and commercial piping applications where polypropylene is specified, including chemical drainage, laboratory plumbing, water treatment systems, and industrial process piping. The Schedule 80 wall thickness provides greater pressure capacity compared to Schedule 40, making it appropriate for systems with elevated operating pressures. The black color is standard for polypropylene Schedule 80 fittings and aids in visual identification during installation and inspection.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 polypropylene piping systems using 1/2-inch nominal pipe size with Slip x SR FIPT connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified mechanical contractor in accordance with applicable plumbing codes such as the IPC. Shut off and depressurize the piping system completely before cutting into any existing line. The slip end is joined using methods appropriate for polypropylene, such as solvent cementing with a compatible polypropylene adhesive or thermal socket fusion depending on the system specification. The SR FIPT end accepts a tapered male threaded fitting using appropriate thread sealant rated for use with polypropylene.
