The NIBCO CC01000 is a 2-inch Schedule 80 polypropylene pipe adapter coupling designed for joining threaded piping runs in industrial and commercial plumbing systems. Built from black polypropylene, this fitting handles maximum working temperatures up to 180 degrees F, making it suitable for hot fluid transfer, chemical distribution, and process piping applications. The FPT x FPT end connections allow it to thread onto male-threaded pipe or fittings on both sides. At 0.34 pounds, it is lightweight without sacrificing the structural integrity that Schedule 80 wall thickness provides. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this type of fitting.
This coupling is used in residential, commercial, and light industrial piping systems where corrosion resistance and chemical compatibility are priorities over metal fittings. Polypropylene construction makes it well suited for systems conveying mild acids, bases, or other fluids that would degrade iron or brass. Typical install scenarios include chemical feed lines, irrigation manifolds, water treatment systems, and other fluid-handling assemblies operating within the temperature rating of the material. Both threaded ports accept standard NPT-threaded connections.

Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter following applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Depressurize and drain the piping system fully before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Use PTFE thread tape or a compatible thread sealant rated for use with plastic fittings — avoid over-tightening, as polypropylene threads can crack under excessive torque. Do not use pipe wrenches or excessive mechanical advantage directly on the fitting body.
