The NIBCO CC00950 is a Schedule 80 polypropylene pipe adapter coupling designed to transition between a slip socket connection and a female NPT threaded connection in plastic piping systems. At 1-1/2 inches, this fitting is a standard size for industrial, chemical, and commercial plumbing applications where corrosion resistance and chemical compatibility are priorities. The black polypropylene construction resists a broad range of acids, bases, and industrial fluids. It is installed by licensed plumbers and pipefitters working on systems where metal fittings would corrode or contaminate the process fluid.
This fitting is suited for residential and commercial applications involving Schedule 80 plastic piping systems, including chemical feed lines, irrigation headers, pool and spa plumbing, and industrial fluid handling. The slip socket end accepts a plain-end pipe for solvent welding, while the female NPT end connects to a threaded male adapter, valve, or equipment port. It is commonly used at equipment connections where a plastic-to-threaded transition is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 polypropylene piping systems using 1-1/2 inch slip and female NPT connections.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters following applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Depressurize and drain the piping system completely before cutting or removing any existing fittings. The slip end requires proper solvent cement rated for polypropylene — do not use standard PVC cement, as it is not compatible with polypropylene. The female NPT end should be assembled with an appropriate thread sealant rated for plastic fittings; avoid over-torquing threaded connections, which can crack the fitting body.
