The NIBCO CC00150 is a Schedule 80 polypropylene socket coupling designed for joining 1-1/2 inch plastic pipe runs in demanding industrial and commercial piping systems. Made from black polypropylene, this fitting handles elevated temperatures up to 180 degrees F, making it suitable for hot-process fluid lines, chemical handling, and industrial drainage applications. The slip-by-slip end connections allow for solvent-welded assembly with standard polypropylene pipe. Plumbers and pipefitters working with thermoplastic systems specify this coupling where corrosion resistance, chemical compatibility, and thermal tolerance are required.
This coupling is well suited for Schedule 80 polypropylene piping systems found in industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, chemical processing environments, and commercial plumbing installations. The 1-1/2 inch size fits a common branch and main line dimension in process piping. It is also applicable in irrigation and water treatment system builds where thermoplastic fittings are preferred over metal. Both end connections are slip-style, accepting pipe that is cut, deburred, and prepared for solvent cementing per standard practice.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for Schedule 80 polypropylene piping systems using 1-1/2 inch slip-connect pipe.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter familiar with thermoplastic solvent-weld procedures. Shut off fluid supply and depressurize the line completely before cutting into an existing system. Pipe ends must be cut square, deburred, and cleaned before applying the appropriate polypropylene solvent cement. Follow IPC and local plumbing code requirements for thermoplastic piping in the applicable service environment.
