The NIBCO CC00100 is a Schedule 80 polypropylene socket coupling designed for joining 1-inch pipe in industrial and chemical process piping systems. It features a Slip x SR FIPT (Socket x Slip Ring Female Iron Pipe Thread) end connection configuration, allowing one socket end to accept a plain pipe end and one threaded end to accept a standard male-threaded fitting. Polypropylene construction provides resistance to a broad range of acids, bases, and industrial chemicals that would degrade metal or PVC fittings. At 0.13 pounds, it is lightweight without sacrificing Schedule 80 wall thickness and pressure ratings. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers for this type of fitting.
This coupling is suited for 1-inch polypropylene piping systems in industrial process lines, chemical handling, water treatment, and laboratory plumbing applications. The Schedule 80 rating makes it appropriate for higher-pressure service compared to Schedule 40 fittings. It is typically used in applications where chemical compatibility, corrosion resistance, and a secure threaded or solvent-cemented transition are required. The black color distinguishes it from natural polypropylene fittings and is standard for NIBCO Schedule 80 PP product lines.

Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter following applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and depressurize the piping system completely before cutting or disassembling any section. Polypropylene socket fittings are joined using approved polypropylene solvent cement or heat fusion per the manufacturer and applicable code; do not use PVC or CPVC cement on polypropylene fittings. Inspect threads on the SR FIPT end and apply appropriate thread sealant rated for polypropylene and the intended service fluid before making up the threaded connection.
