The NIBCO B272450 is a cast copper pipe cross fitting designed for pressure piping systems in plumbing and mechanical applications. Sized at 2 inches with a C x C x C x C end connection configuration, it allows a single run of copper pipe to branch in four directions within the same plane. The fitting is manufactured from cast copper and meets ASME B16.18 and ASTM B584 standards. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in new construction and retrofit work where a four-way branch is required in a copper sweat system. Its pressure-rated construction makes it suitable for potable water, HVAC hydronic, and general pressure service lines.
This fitting is used in residential and commercial copper pipe installations where a four-way intersection is needed in a pressure system. Typical applications include supply distribution manifolds, hydronic heating and cooling piping, and domestic water systems. The sweat-solder end connections are compatible with standard copper tubing. It is sold individually and suited for projects requiring precise branch configurations in tight mechanical spaces.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation fitting for 2-inch nominal copper pressure piping systems using sweat-solder joints per ASME B16.18 standards.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off and depressurize the water system and allow all piping to cool completely before cutting or soldering. Clean all pipe ends and fitting sockets thoroughly and apply flux before sweating joints. Do not apply heat directly to the fitting socket interior, and allow joints to cool fully before restoring system pressure.
