The NIBCO B161150 is a cast copper pressure tee used in potable water, hydronic heating, and general plumbing distribution systems. It connects two run ends and one branch, with a 1-1/2 inch by 1-1/2 inch run and a 3/4 inch branch outlet. The end connections are configured C x F x C, meaning the two run ends are sweat (solder cup) and the branch is a female threaded connection. Fabricated from cast copper, this fitting delivers reliable pressure performance in both residential and light commercial installations. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the typical installers.
This tee is suited for branch takeoffs in copper supply lines, hydronic baseboard loops, and radiant heating manifold feeds where a threaded branch connection is required alongside soldered main-line connections. The mixed C x F x C configuration is common in installations where a threaded gauge port, valve, or service connection needs to be integrated into a copper run without an additional adapter. Package quantity is one fitting per unit.
Designed as an OEM-style pressure fitting for copper pipe systems using standard C (sweat) and F (female NPT) connections in 1-1/2 inch and 3/4 inch nominal pipe sizes.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber following applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off the water supply and fully drain the line before cutting in this fitting. Sweat connections require clean, deburred pipe ends, flux application, and proper soldering technique to achieve a leak-free joint. The female-threaded branch should be made up with appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for the service fluid.
