The NIBCO B147050 is a cast copper pressure tee fitting sized at 1-1/2 inches with a C x C x F end connection configuration. It is designed for use in potable water supply, hydronic heating, and general plumbing pressure piping systems. The sweat-by-sweat-by-female-threaded configuration allows a branch transition from soldered copper runs to a female-threaded outlet, giving installers flexibility when connecting valves, sensors, or threaded accessories inline. At 1.08 pounds, this is a solid, full-weight cast copper fitting suited for code-compliant pressure applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers.
This fitting is used in residential and light commercial plumbing and hydronic systems where a 1-1/2 inch copper mainline requires a threaded branch takeoff. Typical applications include domestic hot and cold water distribution, boiler supply and return piping, and radiant heating manifold connections. The female-threaded outlet accepts standard NPT male-threaded components such as valves, pressure gauges, or unions without additional adapters.
Designed as an OEM-style pressure fitting for 1-1/2 inch copper pipe systems using standard sweat (solder) and NPT threaded connections in residential and light commercial plumbing and hydronic applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and ASTM B88 copper tube standards. Shut off and depressurize the water system and drain the lines before cutting or soldering. Clean and flux all sweat connections thoroughly before applying heat, and allow the joint to cool completely before restoring pressure. Thread sealant or PTFE tape should be applied to any male-threaded component before engagement with the female-threaded outlet.
