The NIBCO B145900 is a cast copper pressure tee fitting designed for potable water, hydronic heating, and general plumbing distribution systems. It provides a branched connection in copper piping runs, joining two sweat (solder) ends on the run with a female threaded branch outlet. The fitting measures 1/2 inches on both run ends and 1/4 inches on the branch, accommodating a reduced branch takeoff. Constructed from cast copper and conforming to ASTM B584 and ISO standards, it delivers consistent wall thickness and reliable joint integrity under system pressure. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the typical installers.
This tee is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications where a reduced-diameter branch is required off a 1/2-inch copper main line. Common uses include domestic hot and cold water distribution, hydronic baseboard heating loops, and compressed air or refrigeration lines within code-permitted pressure ratings. The C x C x F end configuration allows the run connections to be soldered directly to copper tubing while the branch connects to a male-threaded fitting or valve, making it a practical transition point between soldered and threaded piping segments.
Designed as an OEM-style pressure fitting for use with standard 1/2-inch copper tubing on run ends and 1/4-inch male-threaded fittings or valves on the branch outlet, in accordance with applicable plumbing codes.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC requirements. Shut off and depressurize the water or fluid system completely before cutting into any existing line. Run ends require proper tube cleaning, flux application, and lead-free soldering per code; the female threaded branch should be sealed with approved thread sealant or PTFE tape. Do not exceed the pressure and temperature ratings of the fitting or the connected system components.
